NoMore Deaths on Our Streets - Council meeting & Demo, 2nd March 3pm @ Friends Meeting House
Love Activists Brighton & people living on the street gathered almost 2,000 signatures in support of the Solution Based Proposals To End Homelessness (
http://host8.us7.list-manage.com/track/click?u=f0d5f2b6177970f262f90260b&id=38ebc14495&e=4baf77af89) . Some online and most were gathered on the street.

The proposals were debated at the Full Council Meeting on 28th January. They were referred to be considered at the Housing & New Homes committee meeting on 2nd March. This Committee has overall responsibility for the Council’s housing functions, including Council housing, homelessness, allocations and standards of housing in the area. The public meeting is expected to start from 4pm. We have been told the public cannot participate in the discussion, only to sit in to listen.

We are rallying for a demo prior to the meeting from 3pm to express that we won't tolerate anymore homeless people dying on our streets.

'Love Kitchen' is still being set up every Sunday where possible. See the facebook page for details (

Cut Warfare Not Welfare: No Cuts; No War; No Trident

The fight against cuts and austerity is the fight against war and Trident. Brighton & Hove will suffer unprecedented cuts to jobs and services that could mean the closure of libraries and special schools and cuts to housing support, youth services and more. Yet while Brighton & Hove suffers £68 million of cuts and Tory austerity policies damage the NHS and schools and cut welfare, Britain spends £40 billion per year on its military - the fourth biggest military budget in the world – and has spent £30 billion on failed wars in Iraq and Afghanistan plus another £700 million on subsidies to arms companies. If our politicians can find the money to kill people they can find the money to help people. No Cuts – No War!
