Caroline Lucas to step down as co-leader of the Green Party of England and Wales in September.
Green Left, the ecosocialist network for members of the Green Party of England and Wales, thanks Caroline Lucas for her outstanding contributions as co-leader of the Green Party since 2016, and looks forward to a lively leadership contest.
Caroline Lucas’ collaborative leadership with Jonathan Bartley has established the Green Party as an effective major force in politics. She has combined her co-leadership role with tireless constituency work in Brighton Pavilion and a powerful and respected Green Party presence in Parliament. We wish Caroline well in all her future campaigning.
Caroline Lucas has championed inspirational policies about social justice that have brought many people into the Green Party. Her passionate espousal of the links between social and environmental justice supports the ecosocialist policies that are key to the future of the Green Party and a peaceful, sustainable world.
