Actions for the autumn statement: Austerity Has Failed!

The People's Assembly Against Austerity


Tomorrow George Osborne will be delivering his autumn statement. The People's Assembly has organised protests and actions across the country to demonstrate that austerity has failed.

Fife: TONIGHT 2 Dec
Fife People's Assembly will be setting up stalls outside Job Centre's offering assistance and advice to those under benefit sanctions, and to offer solidarity to striking PCS workers. Contact: peoplesassemblyfife@gmail.com

Norfolk: TONIGHT 2 Dec

Swindon: 3 Dec
Swindon People's Assembly will be holding a protest on the evening of 3 December, with activists in Osborne masks holding placards that show the true cost of austerity, with street theatre and more.

Bristol: 6 Dec
The Bristol People's Assembly will be stirring up the tiresome commercial slog of Christmas in Broadmead, with an ensemble of festively-attired 'People's Helpers' (sporting lovely PAAA T-shirts) distributing hopeful tidings of alternatives to baneful austerity (in the form of Christmas-wrapped info cards) and belting out Austerity-proof Christmas Carols for the enjoyment of passers-by! Facebook event here

Teeside: 3 and 6 DecProtests over benefit sanctions planned - The #TeesNo2sanctions demonstrations onWednesday 3 December and Saturday 6 December are being organised to oppose the benefit sanctions. More details here
