So if you didn't hear yet Guinness are trying to evict Beti and her kids again - second time in two years. For anyone who doesn't know her Beti is a brilliant and outspoken organiser who was pivotal in the resistance against the eviction of the Guinness estate in Brixton two years ago and is clearly a thorn in their side. Since then they have made her life as difficult as possible and this is the last straw. (You can learn more gory details of their story on their facebook page.)
People will assemble at Lambeth County Court 9.30-10.30am on Tuesday March 7th to demonstrate the level of support around Beti and to show Guinness that we aren't going to let them get away with this shit.
Whether you can come or not, please SIGN THE PETITION and share amongst local groups - Beti wants to get well over 1,000 signatures before court on Tuesday so she can take it along.
PLUS: If anyone is aware of potential good legal representation it would be great if you can get in touch with the campaign via facebook.
Not only is it important that we rally around Beti, but Guinness are also planning a 'regeneration' project in Northwold, Hackney, which will affect thousands more tenants, and put hundreds in the same scenario Beti and her community were in two years ago, so now is a crucial time to let them know we are tenacious.
