Is a united Left/Green alternative in British politics an unattainable ambition or a realistic and urgently necessary possibility?
There are now four Green Party M.P.s in England, there are also left independent MPs grouped around Jeremy Corbyn and several dissident Labour MPs who openly express dissent from the Starmer leadership. Potentially could this be a basis for a new political force to counter the rise of Reform? But on what basis? A new party? A formal political alliance? Co-operation within existing allegiances?
Green Left, an eco-socialist current within the Green Party is organising an online open meeting to discuss these topics in July 2025.
