The Croydon Assembly last November concluded that, whatever the result of the general election, our communities would face a continuing fight against austerity. How right we were! A Tory government, which has the backing of less than 25% of those entitled to vote, is about to unleash epic cuts on public services and the welfare state. The enforced sale of social housing is on the cards while the NHS will be handed over to the private sector. A massive attack on human rights lies ahead.
To confine opposition to petition signing and annual protest marches will not bring together the alliances needed to defeat the Tories. Come together at the Croydon Assembly to discuss our response and how together we can fight for a fairer, more democratic society. Book your place through eventbrite.co.uk (Croydon Assembly).
