MARCH ON PARLIAMENT
Saturday 12 March 2016assemble Hyde Park Corner London W1 – just inside Hyde Park by the Hyde Park exit from Hyde Park Corner tube.
12:00 for start at 12:30
Departing 12.30pm from Hyde Park Corner going up Piccadilly past the Japanese Embassy to Piccadilly Circus, right down Regent Street South past the offices ofLockheed-Martin, who part-own the UK’s nuclear-weapons factory at Aldermaston; then to Old Palace Yard, opposite the House of Lords via Charles II Street, Haymarket, Cockspur Street, Whitehall and Parliament Square.
RALLY
In front of Statue of George, Old Palace Yard opposite Parliament 2:00pm – approx 4:00pm.
- One-minute’s silence in remembrance of the victims of the continuing Fukushima disaster plus all victims of nuclear power generation followed by speeches (click on underlined names for more information):
- Compère: Shigeo Kobayashi
- Kate Hudson (CND General Secretary)
- Bruce Kent (CND Vice-President)
- Neil Crumpton, environmental campaigner, specialising in energy systems
- Nikki Clarke from Southwest Against Nuclear
- Amrit Wilson from the South Asia Solidarity Group
and performances:
- Atsuko Kamura chanteuse
- Simon Kobayashi singer with ‘Smallgang’
- Paul Steele, singer
Other speakers and performers to be announced
- Towards the end of the rally there will be a ‘dance of death’ followed by a 4-minute ‘die-in’ to represent the deaths past and to come of the victims of nuclear power.

Tomorrow is the fifth anniversary of the Fukushima disaster.
Around the country anti-nuclear campaigners and activists will commemorate the ongoing disastrous effects of the nuclear accident that took place in Japan five years ago.The Japanese government remains unable to contain the problem. Radioactive leaks at the site means that thousands of people continue to be displaced.Nuclear accidents like this have widespread and long-lasting consequences, yet the UK government retains its commitment to build a new generation of nuclear power stations.Join us over the next week to learn more about the Fukushima disaster and to show your opposition to government nuclear policy at commemorative events across the UK.
