Oxford Activism !

Subject: Oxford Activism !

Come to the next Forum meeting on Tuesday 7th November, 7.30 at Wesley Memorial Hall, Oxford. Sign up here so we know to expect you! We almost ran out of chairs last time.

Forum is a great place to meet other Greens and find out what’s going on. You’ll get the chance to have a cup of tea and a chat, find out what’s been happening from our elected councillors, raise questions, and see how you can get involved (or not)!  Each meeting will have a subject that we will discuss.

Next Tuesday we’re continuing our focus on air pollution.  Green city councillor Dick Wolff will be looking at the current work being done on local Zero Emission and Clean Air Zones.  This is sponsored by Oxford County and City councils and the report, due in January, will feed into local transport strategy. How can Greens engage with this? Do we have consensus on transport, or are there differences of opinion which might necessitate some policy coordination work. Dick will be leading a discussion to find out.

If you’re concerned about our air quality, do join the protest next Tuesday morning at 10:00 as county councillors go into their meeting, with an item on air pollution in Oxfordshire. The protest is organised by Oxfordshire Clean Air Action – bring your masks, signs and Green Party banners!

And – don’t forget – Green Fair is coming up!  10.30 on Saturday 2nd December – it’s the best fun day out, so do sign up to come and help, or just come and hang out!
