"Socialists leaving the Labour Party: join us in the Green Party!
The Green Party is an anti-racist party that advocates social, economic and environmental justice, it includes many active ecosocialists and anticapitalists. Our anti-racist stance has featured full support for the BDS campaign since a 2008 conference motion. BDS remains a crucial means to oppose Israel's racist settler-colonial apartheid regime.
We are strongly opposed to antisemitism but false allegations of antisemitism have been directed at many anti-racist pro-Palestine members of the Labour Party, and likewise at some Green Party candidates, especially Shahrar Ali. The Green Party cleared him, and he recently won an IPSO case against the Jewish Chronicle for such false allegations. By contrast, the Labour Party has persecuted anti-racist pro-Palestine members. Most recently, it has suspended Jeremy Corbyn for speaking the truth, namely, that his enemies exaggerated the antisemitism problem in the Labour Party in order to undermine his leadership. More broadly, since 2017 they have weaponised false allegations in order to suppress popular socialist policies.Green Left has opposed such false allegations against pro-Palestine anti-racists and has highlighted the Green Party's support for BDS.
Anti-racists joining the Green Party will find a warm welcome, especially in Green Left.
