On behalf of Green Left, an Ecosocialist tendency within the Green Party of England and Wales, we send our congratulations and solidarity to you. Your attempt to’ customise’ your oath to Elizabeth Windsor was, in our view, fully justified. It is high time that the reality of British colonialism and imperialism was recognised, like all imperialisms throughout history, it has intentionally used cultural and physical genocide, dispossession, and enslavement. The unjust institution of monarchy provides a façade of empty pomp and ceremony to prop up ecocidal capitalism, it deserves no respect and should be overthrown.
