Greener Jobs Alliance is hosting an open meeting on 9th January

Hi all

Greener Jobs Alliance is hosting an open meeting on 9th January which will be a report back on people’s experiences at COP28, and a discussion on where we take the climate struggle from here.  We’d be thrilled if you were able to join us and participate in the debate.

Jenny Cooper, from NEU, was again one of the two U.K. trade union attendees, and has agreed to give us a report back on her experience.  If you attended last year, you’ll know what an excellent report she gave then.

Given how Eurocentric these meetings can often be, we are very keen to get a more global perspective, particularly in light of the strong oppositional positions re fossil fuels taken by a number of countries in the global south.  We are hoping to hear from several activists in that regard.  And we will hear from other COP28 attendees from other U.K.-based campaign groups.  So it should be a very worthwhile session.

It’s a hybrid meeting, in person at UCU HQ, Carlow Street, London N1, or via zoom, for which I will send a link out the day before.

Let me know by email if you can attend, and whether in person or online.  Look forward to hearing from you and thank you very much for reading this.

All the best, and solidarity,

Tahir
